New Best Start Hub with resources for parents and families has been launched

New resources have been developed to help give North Wales families the Best Start in life.

Annually, approximately 6,300 people visit Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board webpages for information before, during and between pregnancies.

As part of a wider programme of work to give families the Best Start, our Public Health Team has worked with more than fifty partner groups and organisations to develop up to date, evidenced based resources.

The online resources support healthy lifestyles and signpost to services before, during and after pregnancy, having been developed with groups including Gynae Voices, Maternity Voices and the North Wales Perinatal Mental Health Steering Group.

As a result of this work, a new Best Start Hub has been created featuring the following life course sections:

The restructured pages simplify how individuals, couples, and families can discover health and wellbeing information during relevant phases of their lives.

The refreshed pages also serve as a valuable resource for BCUHB staff and stakeholders, offering information on a wide array of topics to facilitate meaningful discussions with service users.

Executive Director Of Public Health Teresa Owen said: “Our refreshed resources will equip our staff and our partners with the right information to help our population make an informed decision around health and lifestyle choices.

“The collaboration between our partner groups, service users and clinicians is also a fantastic example of co-production. Everyone involved can take great pride in the work which has been completed.”

Additionally, your initial thoughts on the new Best Start Hub area would be greatly appreciated, by participating in this short survey which will assist us as a team in evaluating the project.
